     Pisang peak (6,019m) was first ascent by the German Team in 1955 and since then it got popularity among the trekkers due to easy access. Pisang peak is most popular trekking peak  located above the pisang village in  Annapuran Region. Climbing the Pisang peak can be combined with the Annapurna circuit trek to experience the climbing and trekking in one shot of your visit to Nepal. The peak got its uniform slope of ice and snow rising above from the Pisang village forming pyramid shaped summit. The final steps to the summit is quite steep and little difficult requires the technical and mountaineering skills.

 

    We start our pisang peak climbing  trek following the  common Annapurna Circuit trails and reach Pisang in a 5 days.From pisang the trail ascends through sparse wood and pasture to Kharka offering the suitable place to set up base camp.High camp is set up at an altitude of 5400m on the south west ridge. South west ridge high camp  is full with snow from the end of November to the end of March. This ridge leads to the top of pisang peak overcoming the few hard steps reaching the summit.The summit truly offers the splendid views of the Annapurna range including Tilicho peak, Annapurna II and IV, Ghangapurna. The summit is considered as the best view point to see Himalaya. The descent through the same route and trek is continued to Manang. From Manang we head toward the Thorang Phedi to cross the world highest passThorang La. We descend further down to Jomsom and take mountain flight to Pokhara.

 

 Itinerary

 Our Pisang  Peak Climbing  itinenary is designed by the expert peak summiter . Every steps have been planned with the high degree of awareness against  altitudes hazard. This itinenary provide enough time for the acclimitization and exploration of the himalayan beauty with out putting your health on risk.


 

Day 1 : Pick up in Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel

Welcome greeting at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu by the representative from Wild Stone Adventure. You will then transfer to the Hotel for refreshment where you will be served with welcome drinks. Depending on your interest and condition you can either rest, hang around the street or visit our office for rest of the day. Included: Welcome Drinks

 

Day 2 : Kathmandu sightseeing, trek briefing and preparation

We will start guided tour to several major historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu Valley. The tour cover UNESCO World Heritage Sites including historical Durbar Square, Sacred Hindu Temple (Pahupati Nath) ,popular monkey Temple (Swayambhunath) and Buddhists Shrine (Buddha Nath). After completion of city tour you will meet with guide and other helping staffs, you will be explained with nature of your trek and your trekking gears will be checked. Included: Breakfast

Day 3 : Drive Kathmandu – Besi Sahar (830m)

You drive along the Kathmandu-Pokhara highway to Dumre and then follow the narrow and paved road by the Marsyangdi River to Besi Sahar . Beshishahar is the district headquarters of Lamjung district. All the local government offices are there. From where you can see some of mountain peaks, natural sceneries surrounding the valley and you can the daily activities of local people.

Day 4 : Trek  Besi Sahar – Bahundanda (1310m)

The first part of the trekking passes thorough flat level along the bank of the Marshyangdi River. We can enjoy the sceneries and the local culture of Gurung people. After lunch, the trail goes steeply upwards to Bahundanda which takes about 2 hours. At this point, we can see the area surrounded by eye-catching scenarios with snow capped Himalayas

Day 5 : Trek Bahundanda – Chamje (1400m)

A steep trail descends for early half an hour and then follows flat path through rice terraces, before crossing a stream at the bottom of a small waterfall then it climbs again high above the river before reaching the village of Lali Gaon. Ahead, the Marsyangdi valley forms a steep V-shape, and you follow the winding mountain path down through Syange where there is a beautiful waterfall above it and along the river for some distance. The trail then climbs steeply and the path is cut into the sheer cliff-face some 200-300m above the riverbed. Eventually we descend to the stone village of Jagat situated on a shelf which juts into the precipitous Marsyangdi valley. Now the trail begins to observe small ups and down to Chamje through the forests.

Day 6 : Trek Chamje – Dharapani (1950m)

The first part of the trail descends to the river and after crossing a suspension bridge, you begin a climb to Sattale (1550m.) on a path so steep that it seems one slip would send you hurtling down into the valley. You continue on an undulating path above the river, and at one point, where a tributary flows in from the opposite bank, the main river becomes covered with huge boulders that hide the water. Climbing the zigzag path to the top of the hill, you see the level, plain of Tal. Though it is enclosed by cliffs, the level area looks reassuring after the harrowing mountain paths just traveled on. You descend to a grassy riverbank which leads to Tal with its hotels and teahouses. Beyond Tal, the valley narrows and the path becomes high and winding, and in several areas hewn from the rock itself. Beyond the small village of Karte, there is a bit more cliff-walking before the path drops again to the river. You cross a suspension bridge, and climb the short distance to the stone kani marking the entrance to Dharapani.

Day 7: Trek Dharapani – Chame (2630m) 

As we cut through a narrow field from the village, the Dudh Khola, which originates from the south face of Manaslu. The Marsyangdi River then veers to the left, and as Annapurna II becomes visible ahead, you arrive at Bagarchhap, a Bhote village with prayer flags fluttering in the breeze around Buddhist monastery. Continuing to climb through forests of pine and oak, you pass through Danaqu. There comes a small wooden bridge which takes you to follow steep ascent path upto Timang village. It lies at the bottom of Lamajung Himal. The trail goes through flat level until we reach Chame where there are government offices, shops, and hotels. Chame is the district headquarters for the Manang district.

Day 8 : Trek Chame – Upper Pisang (3700m)

We head toward the Pisang with the mesmerizing sight of Lamjung himal. A narrow steep path through a very dense pine forest will bring us to the dramatic curved rock face, rising 1500m from the river. As the trail opens up we will be surrounded by Himalayan Peaks all the way to Pisang. We Trek further towards a big hill to reach Upper Pisang.

Day 9 : Trek Upper Pisang - Pisang Peak Base Camp (4380m)

Today we start walking towards Base camp, the path ascends through pine forest and pasture. Finally we reach Kharka which provide the best place to set our camp.

Day 10 : Trek Pisang Peak Base Camp - Pisang Peak High Camp (5400m)

Leaving the Base Camp, today the trek leads along rocky glacier path to High Camp. We will be welcome by the panoramic views of Annapurna range, Chulu East, Chulu Far East, Nawal peak, Tilicho peak and many snow- capped mountains.

Day 11 : Rest and Acclimitazation day 

A rest day for acclimatization. This days is essential for acclimatization to preparing your body for thepisang peak summit ahead.We also take a short trek around the camp to adjust to the high altitude. At some point of the day our guide will provide training on the vital climbing techniques. These on the spot training will sure to boost up the confidence.

Day 12 : Climbing Summit (6091m) and back to Base Camp

Today we give a final shape to our dream of Summit. Early in the morning we start our climb through the well define ridge. At the summit of Pisang peak, we can have closer panoramic views of Annapurna range, Chulu East, Chulu Far East, Nawal peak, Tilicho peak, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Tibetan mountains, Kang Guru peak, Gyaji Kang peak, Tilje peak, Kuchubhro peak and many snow capped mountains. After a successful summit, we will walk down to Base Camp.

Day 13 : Trek Pisang Peak Base Camp  – Manang  (3400m)

The trail from the base camp moves steeply down to Pisang village and continue our trek to Manang village. We head along a steep ridge savoring beautiful sights of the Manang valley and the Tilicho peak. As we descend through Manang's airstrip, we come to Hongde lying beneath the gigantic Annapurna III on the north-east face. The route further leads to the wide plain of the Sabje Khola Valley from where we get the majestic view of Annapurna IV. Further on, we cross a wooden bridge, as the Marshyangdi Khola gushes below us. We enter the beautiful village of Mungji. We continue treading along the cultivated fields and after a while we arrive at the village of Bryaga with a splendid monastery. On trekking down to Manang, we enjoy the majestic views of the Annapurna range - Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Gangapurna and Tilicho Peak.

Day 14 : Trek Manang – Yak Kharka (4000m)

The trail ascends gently all the way to Yak Kharka passing through the Gunsang village. En route, you can see panoramic views all the day.

Day 15 : Trek Yak Kharka –Thorang Phedi (4450m)

Leaving Yak Kharka, you climb gradually to a ridge before descending to the headwaters of the Marsyangdi and crossing via a covered wooden bridge. After a short ascent up the mountain path on the right bank, you follow a narrow trail across an unstable spree slope and then descend to Thorung Phedi.

Day 16 : Trek Thorang Phedi – Muktinath(3800m)  via Thorang La Pass  (5416)

Today, you start early for your crossing of Thorung La (5416m.). The trail becomes steep immediately on leaving camp but as this trail has been used by local people for hundreds of years the path is well defined. The gradient then eases and after around 4 hours of steady climbing, you reach the chorten and prayer flags of the pass. The views are dramatic to say the least, from the snow-covered mountains above, to the head of the Kali Gandaki valley below and the brown and purple hills of Mustang which are spread out before you. The descent to Muktinath is a knee pounding 1600m but it's compensated for with excellent views of Dhaulagiri. Eventually the moraines give way to grassy slopes before a pleasant walk along the Jhong Khola Valley to Muktinath and its shrines and temple.

Day 17 : Trek Muktinath – Kagbeni (2710m)

Today we begin trek down to Kagbeni. After passing through Jharkot and Khingar villages with typical Tibetan architecture, we follow path steeply down to Kagbeni, a primitive village which still have similar culture and tradition like Tibet. We end today's walking by visiting the monastery said to belong to 15th Century.

Day 18 : Trek Kagbeni  – Jomsom (2800m)

Today trail passes through the bank of Kali Gandaki passing through the Eklebhatti. The trail is windy after late morning. The river flows through broader course. Jomsom is the headquarter of Mustang and it is split into two towns and between these two towns passes through Kali Gandaki river. There is access of internet and banking facilities. From Jomsom, we can enjoy the magnificent views of Nilgiri and Tilicho peak.

Day 19 : Fly Jomsom - Pokhara (820m)

Today, after breakfast we take a stunning 30 minutes mountain flight to Pokhara. On arrival at Pokhara airport, guide will transfer you to the hotel. After lunch we will continue our sightseeing to the Devi’s fall, Mahendra cave, Vindhyabashini temple and White river (Seti Gorge). Enjoy evening walk along the Phewa Lake and also take a boat around the lake.   Included:Breakfast

 

Day 20 : Drive Pokhara - Kathmandu 

After breakfast, we start our drive back to Kathmandu.While on the drive you can enjoy the mountain views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will get transferred to our hotel for the refreshment and in evening you will pick up for the cultural dinner together with the Wild Stone Adventure staffs.

 Day 21 : Farewell
